Former White House press secretary Scott McClellan trashes the Bush administration in a book to be released Monday, saying the administration maintained a “permanent campaign” approach to the presidency while accusing the president himself of “self-deception” of the American people. The criticizes the administration’s handling of Hurricane Katrina, the Iraq War, and describes how the administration went awry.
The Bush administration responded today, saying, “Scott, we now know, is disgruntled about his experience at the White House. We are puzzled. It is sad. This is not the Scott we knew.”
It will be interesting to see what the critical reception of this book will be when the book is released on Monday. A few copies have been leaked and obtained by newspapers such as the New York Times. This is a book about the Bush administration that I would love to read. Hopefully a Kindle version will be released.
